Just ordered them, the license plate LED ones, you say a special holder is needed? Any idea on part? Thanks
If you get the ones on the left, the 8 SMD ones you just use the existing bulb holder, no special holder required.

Just pull out the old halogen bulbs and replace with LED. The centre lights are tricky to get out.

The license plate needs a special housing

As per my post above, no special housing if you buy the right LED's

Is there a guide anywhere on how to get the damn housing from the central windscreen light out?

I put the ceiling of 3.0. It is the same as yours and I put the LEDs. Only problem is that the fading has been lost a bit. So I put the old bulb. :?

How To: Interior and Rear License Plate LEDs

Changed all my bulbs now apart from the dome above the gear knob

I had it off but the leds are too big to fit in the hole (ooo arrr!) so was wondering if anyone had any techniques or tips? Or is it simply a case of ordering different leds lol
