Had No.206 in for its MOT yesterday and sailed through with no issues. What a machine. In comparison, bought a Fiat Punto from new in about 2001, and it failed its first MOT on three things. First and last Fiat.
Had the Roadster S for about 16 years now and still love it.

That's great news.

Z4s seem to be very good for MOTs. My 18 year old passed with no advisories last month. :D

My 2.2 passed on the 2nd May with no advisories. Amazing. Just watched a video of the 4 worst and 4 most reliable BMWs. The E85 and E86 M54 and N52 were in the 4 most reliable. We all knew that though didn’t we.

To be honest, these things should pass their MOTs. They're performance/enthusiast cars, and should be looked after. In fact I'll go as far as to say most MOT failures are down to rust or neglect.

Apart from tyre advisories, our MC had a ARB ball joint dust cover split in 2020, advsory for worn front discs one year which was ignored for the next 3, and in 2019 Paddock Motors near Exeter decided the headlights were too crazed to get a beam pattern ond offered to clean them for an hour per side. The Mobile chap who came and did them for £50 thought they were takig the proverbial and they've been fine since. Otherwise no issues since the dirst test in 2009.

Our 1990 Carina failed on a leaky exhause in 2008, Blown brake light bulbs in 2010 AND 2011 (different sides, and after the previous year I actually checked the bloody things the night before), and clean until "Both rear tyres not fitted in accordance with sidewall instructions" in 2020 when some tyre chain fitted directional ones on the wrong side! Since then 1 advisory for a worn tyre and the sporadic "oil leak but not excessive" from the rocker cover.
