1990 Honda CRX

It’s only done 41k miles, 5k in the last 18 years, 600 in the last 5 years.

It’s very clean give it’s nearly 35 years old, but it’s going to get some winter love and then definitely a bit more use than it’s had over the last few years!

Wow! You never saw many of those around and even less these days. Can't beat a Honda IMO.

Cool - still looks modern. Can’t believe it’s 35 years old.

Me neither. Built the same year I bought my first house. Makes me feel really old. :(

No need to say what that is. Recognised instantly as one of those wanted but could never afford cars from years back. 8)

Love these! 8) Can’t think of the last time I saw one.

I always wanted one as a youngster but got swayed by 205s Mk2 golf’s instead.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

So a little more info.
Jan 1990 CRX 1.6i-16, 41,000 miles. 130bhp, but only weighs 975kg, and has no power steering...

I grew up with mum working in a Honda dealership, so spent lots of my formative years around these cars and as a teenager I fell in love with the CRX - it was just so cool!

Bought this from a guy in Yorkshire - given the lack of mileage for the past 20 years (according to the service book, it has done 27k of its current 41k by 1997) and the almost immaculate interior, I'd say it's been sat in a few garages driven on sunny Sundays for quite some time. It truly is in fantastic condition, no fading, no marks aside from a small tear in the rear seat. I was going to replace it, but then I saw the price of second hand parts (!) so I’m going to get it repaired.

My plans - I have a mate who trained as a Honda mechanic in the late 80s and worked for them for 30 years (he now works on Mercs), so it's going to him for a full service, cambelt, gearbox oil, and he'll replace any hoses, rubbers etc that look tired. He'll also check the brakes (but these look good) and give the underneath a really good inspection. I think he's more excited about its arrival than I am!

It'll then get some new boots (I suspect these tyres have been on it for quite a while) and get used over the summer (maybe a few classic jap meets).

Next winter its going to have the suspension stripped down, sandblasted and powder coated and all the bushes etc changed, and then go into my mates bodyshop to have a few little rust spots cleaned up and a good wax oil applied.

This one is staying standard (unlike the Zed that has more mods than a Vespa rally on the Isle of Wight), but I'm going to get a retro style blaupunkt stereo from these guys https://www.classiccarstereo.co.uk/shop ... cm-82-dab/ looks exactly like it's from the 1990s but has Bluetooth and DAB.

Anyway, here are a few pics for you to enjoy.

Most excellent...congrat's!

My sister had a red Prelude of the same year, new as a company car. It had 4WS and I always thought it was really cool. I worked for the same company as her and had to put up with a 1.8 Sierra estate.
