LED Interior Bulbs

Evening all

Am looking to replace all interior bulbs with LED.

I’ve come across these, that state they don’t have code issues

https://www.ledperf.co.uk/pack-interior-full-led-pure-white-for-bmw-z4-e85-p-6139.html

Has anyone any experience with them or does have anyone have any recommendations.

Have searched the forum but haven’t come across any new(ish) threads..

I’m happy to pay a bit more if it’s worth it 👍🏼

Thanks in advance

I got 4 sets of these (needed 7 bulbs): https://www.amazon.co.uk/OSRAM-LEDriving-Blister-Retrofit-offroad/dp/B08PKSK1GD
Makes the interior lighting look a lot better.
No idea why they say 'offroad use only' for these :scratchhead:

Oh, and why 7? Footwells (2), overhead lights (3), storage box (1), boot (1). Might do the license plate lights as well at some point.

i have an E89 but i bought these from AliExpress, they do E85/6 as well.

Cheap and worked really well.

I have the same set in my car, bulbs are very good quality, whilst they don't trigger a bulb out light like running led bulbs for external lighting do, they do trigger a code for interior lighting open circuit in the gm5 module, just ignore it tho.

Interesting, the ones I used don't trigger any kind of warning whatsoever.

I did the same thing, bought 3 packs of OSRAMs. But surprise-surprise, while I replaced boot and glove box, then I realized there are no footwell light housings, neither in the back storage box. I have the facelift E85 (2007), is this something standard and it depends on the edition of Z4?

Don't rice it up with some tacky eBay LEDs that are brighter than a thousand suns - the later OE LED number plate units can be used with a new cable socket housing (cutting the tab off the originals is also tacky).

LED numberplate units: 63267193294

Cheers Steve I would have probably went with the ricey ones lol

Not my intention at all! And thanks for the info on the OE LED units, had no idea that was an option.

You're welcome, they're not going to be as cheap but they are much better quality and should last significantly longer. I've had mine at least 9 years, maybe 10.

I bought a couple Festoon LEDs from Fizzmo on Ebay in 2017 and the one in my Z4 is still working.

I didn't want to rice up the interior, but the boot light is at the side in Z4s and normal bulbs barely illuminate half of it! They were said to be "CANBUS NO ERROR" but I doubt boot lights are CANBUS monitored.

They were £3.99 for two so I put the other one in my E46 daily, but I sold that in 2018.

Speaking of the boot, I'm thinking about adding an adhesive 12v LED strip in the boot and stick it under the moveable 'parcel' shelf. Any tips?
Cause let's be honest, mostly thanks to its location, the light output of the LED bulb is absolutely terrible :/

It appears that these SL series bulbs are part of their Signal Lamp classification, but Osram have not got them certified in all countries for exterior usage, as in side lights or turn signal indicators, etc.
Thats why they say off road usage only

Does your glove box light seem original? At least early Z4s don't have a glove box light at all and it's really annoying.

Looks great!
That's pretty much what I'm after. Any particular LED strip you used for that? Was it as simple as hooking into the existing wiring for the side bulb?

Any strip will work, unless it's broken :D
You'll have to buy some extra wires and connectors as well and solder the wires to existing bulb housing to make it work.
