I don’t normally post on the E89 forum because I don’t pretend to know anything about them.

My nephew has one but is about to be posted overseas so wanted to know what I thought he could get for it.

So, what is a ballpark “sensible” asking price for a 12-reg silver 20i M Sport on just under 40,000 miles, depending on options etc? I know it’s in good fettle, on 326m rims but probably needs new tyres.

Motorway valuation is £7,422 and WBAC is £6,165 which both seem really low. I expected this to be a £10k+ car.

Thanks for your help.

I think all you can realistically do is look on AT and look at the ones most closely matching yours.

And bear in mind those cars are for sale, not priced sold.

A quick look shows the lowest priced 12 plate one at 42k miles at 8250 going up to 15k.

Market values have tanked over the last two years..in part by the fact that seems very few people want to buy them..most of the cars I track never sold until the price came down to the levels you mentioned..

So somewhere around £8k ish I guess ..unless it’s exceptional..it seems a few ‘classic’ E89s 23i/30i in excellent condition / garage queens with great service history are getting slightly better than basic prices ..

Have to agree, unfortunately.
£9-9.5k if it is exceptional in every way. A set of tyres is going to realistically be around £800 for someone.
Lots to choose from and being a pre-facelift 2012 will hurt the value a bit aswell IMO.
