Mine looks like a toy

Post by skmattwell » Tue Apr 16, 2024 5:49 pm

Went to pick up a new locking hook to retrofit the new m bonnet to my pre-facelift earlier and parked up next to a 2024 M3.

Couldn't even find my car walking out the shop as it was completely obscured by the other 2024 giants. Makes the zed look tiny!

Couldn't make it's mind up whether it wanted to be a lovely sunny day or torrential. Luckily I was stuck at a red light each time the heavens opened

I was waiting for that! :D
There is (or was) a garage in South Croydon who re-conditioned engines. Coming in from the South you couldn't miss it. They had a mahoosive sign over their workshop that just said "ENGINE'S" in huge letters. So wanted to stop and tell them but it would have been pointless and a waste of all our time.

I once had a van signwritten (in paint not these new-fangled stickers). It had the word refrigeration spelled ' refridgeration' in six places. The sign-writers didn't make any money on that one once they had put it right! :)

I wish it were actually an M, just a regular 2003 zed with some m modifications. If they did an auto MR I'd be all over it, but many would see that as sacrilege

Funny cos if you wanted a newer 'M' of any model you would be in your element. 99.999% of all BMW M cars are bloody autos since about 2007.
If I could find a decent manual M4 I would have one tomorrow. Or preferrably M6; but that is impossible.

True, part of the reason I went for auto really as that's the way we're going, especially with EV'S. Although I'd never be able to afford anything remotely new and in my opinion post-2016 BMW's are an eyesore. I'm sure they drive great, but I need to look back at it and go pwwoooar

Not really IMO. While my legs both work I like a manual. And my darling wife (!) flatly refuses to drive an automatic, which was a problem when finding an F31.

What I don't know won't hurt me, I've only ever driven one manual and it was an old ford escort estate around Sainsbury's car park at about 5mph
