Wing Mirror Glass

Post by obelix54 » Sun Apr 14, 2024 3:12 pm

Broker my nearside mirror glass a few years ago and just replaced it with an ebay glass replacement. However I have found another ebay glass with heating but when I took the original off, it has a plastic plug (looks like 4 pins inside) compared to the replacement which has 2 bare connections. Have I just bought the wrong replacement glass ?

I looked at OEM but they wants hundreds now. Any help appreciated if I can use the replacement and how.

It is a 2009 3.0i.

I know in the case of the E85, the extra wiring is for the dimming function.

A new one may be hundreds, but there are many ebay listings for complete wing mirror units.

They are range from £60 ish.

I had mine replaced by BMW years ago, thankfully under warranty as the bill came to about £300 they said!
