Some good progress today (I think)
Fitted the right carpet to the boot (duh) so it now sits properly on the blue tooth area. That feels better.
Fixed the boot lock- the pins in the socket were totalled so a new one sorts that- interestingly the boot lights won’t work until the unit is plugged in. But that’s another one off the list.
The hvac issue was (wait for it) transport mode. So that’s another ticked off!!!
Chasing the other electrical issues, I unplugged the wiper motor as it’s working as the roof is trying to move (!). Motor unplugged and nothing works (windows/roof etc) so I am thinking it’s a k-bus issue or wire earth, over an earthing issue.
I think I’ve found the k-bus terminal point. This is going to be painful!!!
Did a full ista scan- it’s basically saying it can’t talk to a load of modules
Next steps are we need to get the brakes on and the system including the clutch bled, so I can move the car
Thank goodness for a long bank holiday weekend eh

That concurs with issues I've had.
One module corrupted and it upsets everything else on the kbus so the software cant see it.
For each module with a code, you can disconnect that and see if the others wake up.
When that happens the disconnected one is the culprit.

It's really starting to look like a car now.
Good luck with those electrics, and happy birthday.

A few more things off the list
AC system all put back together. Filled and bled the coolant and ran it up to temperature… success! Excuse the smoke I think there was some oil on the exhaust
Considering that it’s the first time it’s been running in about 2 years, it’s not too bad!! A bit happy maybe but an oil change will sort that.
Interesting also to see the rear vents working on the car as I open and close the boot!
And front number plate fitted which makes the ocd less prevalent
Videos to follow!

Is that a bulging/split seal at the bottom of the vent that needs sorting?
Really great thread. Good work so far.

Say it quietly
Only two lights left on the dashboard…
Airbag and a bulb out
A busy afternoon-
All brakes back on including handbrakes
Braided hoses
ABS bodgery sorted
Rear bumper back on
Arch liners back on
Now needs a full bleed and ABS inpa bleed
It’s coming on well!
