You can buy ointment to stop fleas, it’s the blood sucking ones we hated. If you don’t catch them quickly they drop to the floor and wait for a passing human to latch onto :headbang:

We had a very similar occasion a few years back.

Painful memories even now, but she was a rescue cat that we took in and gave her several years of love and affection, so I do find some comfort in that.

You will find that time is a great healer.

Sad news...sorry to hear when someone loses a pet.

I had to get one of my cats put to sleep in December 2019 due to liver failure and possible cancer. She was around 16 and I'd had her for over 14years. She was cremated and she's in my den where I watch TV and play playstation.
It's gutting and I feel for you.
It's ridiculous how attached you get to a daft little animal but they really are family members

Yes it is daft really how we get attached them, we had our German Shepherd from a small puppy till he was 12.5 yrs old and he like a child, family member and companion. Still very sadly missed and having him as my avatar keeps him with me.

Think I will do the same Mikey

She was cremated yesterday and she is coming home tomorrow. We had a photo enlarged by Photobox which is now hanging in the conservatory and very impressed by their service. I wanted one which showed her true character but STMBO chose the other.

Rest in peace furry friend, just an awful thing to go through, we all know the day will come with our faithful friends but it doesn't make it any easier :(

Well today that moment came much earlier than we anticipated and we had to say goodbye to our loving friend of nearly 14 years . Upset would be an understatement but we did what was right for him .

Its a very sad time but as many replied to me, its got to be about what you did was for him not you.

When I find myself being upset I just forced myself to think of the good times and the life of joy you give to your pet and the joy they give back.
