Hello

Post by JakeS76 » Tue Feb 20, 2024 2:18 pm

Hello everyone, I've just bought a 2012 Z4 and I'm really enjoying driving it. My previous car was a heavily customised SLK and before that a 1985 911. Before that a Boxster and before that a Marcos. And an ancient (1960s) Lotus elan 2+2 coupe.

So you can probably tell that I love cars. I wasn't sure that the Z4 would bring a smile to my face like the others (well all of them except the lotus which kept breaking down). But it handles really well - on 18 inch wheels not 19s. The interior is definitely a step up from the SLK. I will still miss that car, it was getting on for almost 20 years old and I had it for around 8 years.
The Z4 is the 2.0 auto and I thought it might feel slow but with the turbo and auto box it goes well.

Only issue I've found so far is the parking sensors..Do you reckon the Bimmerlink app would diagnose the fault?

Cheers. The SLK was a great car but very high maintenance. It was very different to the standard SLK. I'm hoping the Z4 will be not quite as costly to keep on the road.

Welcome..the engine / box combo is arguably the best one in terms of poise, handling and smoothness..a re-map may transform your view in an even more positive light..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

I have not used the Bimmerlink app and I don`t have an E89 but if you post your problem in the E89 section I`m sure someone will answer it for you
