Morning all
So after a 13 year hiatus.. (kids wife house etc..) i'm now back in the fold with the Z4 family & man it feels good to be home
I took delivery of a 2021 (2020 built) z4m40i this week& its by far the best car ive ever owned (black wheels, frozen grey paint & black badges, its epic)
Now we've all watched the youtube vids, pops bangs & cackles in full hooligan mode in sports +.... except mine does everything but the extra noise, any ideas???

Welcome back . Do you mean just on the M40i ? Most of the cars that pop and bang have had the ECU modified to make it pop and bang or have an aftermarket or straight through exhaust . My E86 didn`t really pop and bang until I changed the headers and exhaust .

Mine is completely standard and does in sports+
I’ve been told many times it’s sounds awesome from the outside (cars behind etc) but you don’t experience that at all when driving the car.
When we were in France/Spain you could hear it all the time when going through tunnels so it is there
