E86 coupe manual low miles
According to this detailed database compiled by a forum member only 1,596 manual 3.0Si Coupes were registered in the UK:- http://perso.numericable.fr/tonyz4c/index30si.html
So given that they are all at least 15 years old finding one with less than 50K miles might be a challenge, and/or expensive!
And as the N52 engine is pretty bullet-proof I'd be more interested in condition and history than mileage. I sold my first E86 on 62K miles (after a water pump failure at 60K), my next E86 at 91K (seemingly on the original water pump), my E91 325i on 139K (after a water pump at 135K) and my current E90 330i is on 124K - water pump status unknown!
Good luck anyway.

Thanks. Agree. I will buy on condition first and foremost, but also low mileage. Understand it’ll cost more. That’s the name of the game.

Fair enough.
After my two 3.0Sis I bought my MC with 76K miles at a price I couldn't resist in 2019!

E86 coupe manual low miles
I’m on my 3rd coupe, 146,000 miles superb car full history and proven reliability, my first coupe had 150,000 miles on it when a guy from Scandinavia flew in to London to meet me, collected the car and drove home without issue and it cost him £4k for the car ….these cars are brilliant no matter the miles but I do get if you have the money get low mileage but don’t be worried buying a high miler either …I’m down the road in Leeds all the best

I have a silly thing with mileage. I know it’s a nonsense really. I do always buy on condition though.
My 993 at 80k miles cost me about £15k more than it would if it were over 100k miles. But to me it’s a good investment.

E86 coupe manual low miles
Sold my low mile E86 last year, and bought an E85 with double the miles on for less than half the price, best move I made.
In terms of it being an investment I am not sure that will be the case here - the porsche market is nothing like the BMW one. Coupes are not climbing in price, if anything they are very static. Adding miles to a low miler will depreciate it. At 50k miles you will have original water pump and various other jobs to spend 1k+ on, unless you are planning on keeping it for 10 years you wont see any return on it, more likely a loss.

I would agree that you shouldn’t really expect to see E86 and investment in the same sentence.
Sadly not even an M right now it seems.

More important - where are the pics of the 993
That is a good investment (assuming not a Targa or Cab)

Mines at 39k; got my waterpump done a few years ago after it failed around 36k miles - so worth checking if its been done on any examples you see OP before assuming it hasn't been done due to milagecoldel wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 10:14 am Sold my low mile E86 last year, and bought an E85 with double the miles on for less than half the price, best move I made.

Perceived as undesirable, just like the Cab or auto boxes. I keep half an eye on the 993 as I really like them, and as soon as I find a description that sounds really good with a good price and then click on it - it is always a Targa / Cab or Auto. Both the Targa and Cab look "wrong" compared to the coupe.

Yep appreciate that work could have been done, but at sub 50k miles its much more likely to have not been done.dmo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 12:04 pmMines at 39k; got my waterpump done a few years ago after it failed around 36k miles - so worth checking if its been done on any examples you see OP before assuming it hasn't been done due to milagecoldel wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 10:14 am Sold my low mile E86 last year, and bought an E85 with double the miles on for less than half the price, best move I made.

The point really is that the E86 is not an investment, at the moment. There are plenty of other pig of a jobs to be done around that mileage and upwards, if these other jobs havent been done any small increments you might see in appreciation will be offset and more by maintenance and mileage depreciation.
