I know it's easy to say now because I can definitely not afford it, and money is all relative to how much you have but I don't think that's going to be 200 grand's worth more fun on a twisty than an S2000, Boxster, MX5 or even a Z  Incredible car with an incredible, incredible sound though. Take price away from it, that's near enough a perfect sports car for me. However the S2000 is N/A and revs to 9000 too, sounds incredible at full chat and you can get a good one for 20k

Yeah sorry when a 'sports car' is £220k I lose interest. Who tf is going to buy that and drive it properly, track it etc? No one. The only person who's going to buy that is a speculator, and not at that price (as it probably represents top of the market when it's just about to turn!).

Sorry, maybe I'm feeling particularly jaded this morning, but I'm starting to get really bored by the ridiculousness of it all these days. Cars are for driving. Cars should be affordable to buy (and no I don't mean finance up to your eyeballs, I mean buy yourself, maybe at a stretch with a small bank loan). They should not be so expensive that few can truly own them, they depreciate like a f***ing stone once actually used, and all it encourages is speculators on the rarified models.

I'd love a Cayman GT4 (manual), I'm not interested in the Boxster GT4RS because open-top motoring to me should be a more sedate affair (I'd like a classic for that) so an RS soft-top sort of muddles the point for me, and I don't think cutting the roof off many cars improves the looks. Personal opinion I realise but irrespective, I absolutely cannot get excited about a f***ing boxster that costs more than a house in most parts of the country. THAT is ridiculous.

When a second hand entry model Porsche is nearly a quarter of a million quid, there is definitely too much money around!

There’s always been money around throughout history, it’s no different now, it’s just that a minority have a load more than the majority.

Interesting thought processes going on which things like cars always seem to stir it up….the guy selling this is going to make a killing by doing nothing, that’s bloody good business sense…! Would anyone here turn down a huge pay rise in their job today for doing nothing more than they were yesterday ? It’s no different, it’s simply a different way of making a living.

On the car itself, personally I think some definitely will get used because some can afford it, this car is no more than walking through town and digging in their pocket for 20p to use the public loo to some. Nick Mason races his £40 odd million 250 GTO regularly. Some will get mothballed obvs for a hopefully big return one day like the RS500 ‘Cosseh’…it’s always been this way, nothing new here.

i want it so bad....... BUT its just not worth that amount, im keeping a keen eye on GT prices and god willing another good year, i may be able to strike on something. the 4RS coupe is starting to come down to more realistic money. But you know me so well, im aching for something new now and this model is so ME...... i fear the z4s days are numbered but its got to be right, ive owned it for 15 years i think, but last year i really enjoyed using the Z lots more, its almost like im only just starting to really fully appreciate the quality of the build.

Going by the way the overs market for Cayman GT4RS has dropped to not far off list, then I would be waiting a short while if I wanted a Spyder RS.

I have a mate who took delivery of a GT4 RS a couple of months before Christmas, brand new £135K. He knows he can drive it for a year and hand it back to Porsche for near enough the same money! :o

He has tracked it a few times at Snetterton and says it’s insane when you push it.

He also has this for sale at the moment on MP! BUFF CONSTRUCTION is his company name ( builders)
