Hello

Recently purchased a G29 Z4 and been viewing the forum for a while. I finally joined following on from being spotted.

Car is Misano blue with ivory interior and tech pack as I wanted the reverse camera.

Hi and welcome to the forum! That is a bold blue, certainly looks good with the ivory interior.

Hello
I’ve only had my 2008 Z4 3.0i for a week. Joined here to get as much information as possible about my new car.
I’m wondering about the timing chain and when it needs to be replaced and if there will be any indications that it does need to be replaced.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum Sherf.

It might have been better starting your own thread to be honest, but you're here now!

I'm assuming your car is a 3.0Si with the N52 engine that doesn't seem to suffer from cam-chain issues.

My 330i daily with the same engine has done 124K miles on the original AFAIK and isn't showing any signs of cam-chain trouble.

Sorry, I didn't notice where you were.

All facelift 3 litres in the UK were 3.0Sis, but assuming your 3.0i has the same N52 engine, just with a different tune, the cam-chain doesn't seem to be a problem.
