Car won't start - any suggestions?
I did a 250 mile journey in the car a few days ago, now it won't start. When I turn the key it makes no attempt to start.
The central locking works fine as do the headlights and radio. I've checked the status indicator on the battery, which also seems to suggest it's OK.
Could it just be a flat battery, or something more problematic?

Starter motor failed would be my bet.
Try giving it a clout while someone turns the key.

Most likely to be starter motor, they can fail without warning. A fairly easy job and inexpensive if you do an exchange at euro car parts. could also be battery not having enough output. If battery is old also worth changing for piece of mind.

agree most likely starter motor - mine went in the summer with no symptoms.
I hit with a hammer and it freed it to double check.
New ones are cheap and very easy to fit.

If you hear "click" sound, but nothing happen, that is also a good indicator that the starter motor is dead.
