How do you disconnect the power harness to the seats?

Trying to remove the seats, heated and electrically adjustable.

I can see a big yellow chunky connector to the seat from the body.

Any idea how it unlatches?

We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

As far as I can remember when I did mine the yellow connector just held the two black plugs in place and acted like a sleeve, I think

If I recall, you slide the connector cover to one side, length wise to disengage.

If it is the same as the Z3 (which is also big and yellow), there should be a black 'sleeve' on one end. Slide that back away from the connector and it unlatches the two connectors. They will then separate on their own. If it looks like the one in the attached picture (not the best admittedly
I am becoming somewhat of an expert on the myriad of overly-complex wiring connectors in a BMW!

Yes, if it’s the same as an E85 you get hold of the black section which has thumb grips moulded on it. Pull it out to one side and it has a cam and lug set up which disengages the yellow plug.
You may need to use a flat blade to start pulling the black slider out.

The Z3 doesn't have grips moulded in, so the e85 was an evolution. The E89 probably has an electrically assisted mechanism and the G29 will be done via an 'APP'.
