Back again.. and ready to mod again :D

Post by Theivz » Fri Sep 22, 2023 7:41 pm

Hi guys and gals just bought this manual e85 3.0i recently and started with a thorough clean.

It's done 94k and has "BMWBOX" stickers on front and back so wonder if anyone recognises it..

Inside outside clean
Roof clean (bit of mould)
Interior clean and leather clean and condition
Engine bay clean

I used to have an e89 and missed the Z4 platform alot!! Was waiting for the right car to start some minor performance and cosmetic mods 😎

Welcome back, looks a nice example. What do you have planned for her?

With regards headlights, you can buy headlight restoration kits from the likes of meguiars, turtle wax etc. or I just used varying grades of wet and dry on mine (600-1500 I think), buffed with a DA/medium cut compound, cleaned and used some K2 lamp protect from amazon to coat them. Came up like new

Yeah you're right

Weirdly low on front and high on rear

Plus alignment is well off

Hopefully coilovers will.sort that out then will get mechanic to check bushes etc

All much the same I think… meguiars, 3M, turtle wax and auto-glym are the ones I see generally

Well worth doing though!

I used Auto Glym on mine and wow, very pleased, however it dosen't come with a sealant, on their website they say they have done tests and they found no difference. They recommend using one of their wax products. Resin something, seems to work, looks nice.
