Yeah, the the software that is on your ECU is 456BG23S.
Attached is an XDF with the rev limiters for your software version (assuming you're 6 MT)

Thanks, what software are you using to read the file? Can I update my DME to the software version for the XDF file (version: 456BO02S) from the ms4x wiki instead of creating a new XDF file in order to change other parameters?

I’m using hexedit as per the screenshot. TunerPro is what you load the XDF into.
I suspect the version the Z4 uses/is on your car is already on a later version than the original XDF was created from as the XDF looks to have been created from a leaked A2L/Damos.

I am already using ms45 flasher and tunerpro but do you recommend a different flasher? Do you know of any good threads/guides for making an XDF file for the ms45?

I know the second row is the RPM limit at various points but what is the first row and what do the different columns mean? Is it a limiter by gear system?
To raise the limit by 500 rpm do I increase all the numbers by 500?
Also, how do you make the limiter more aggressive? I know for ms43 you reduce the limiter hysteresis in c_n_max_hys but is there something like that for ms45?
I hope I'm not asking too many questions but I am still new to this and I'm trying to get all the help I can.

I did some digging through the latest Datens for the E85 and it looks like you can flash BO2S so your probably best doing that, at least then you can use the existing XDF.
Get Winfkp up and running, then do a ZUSB update and re-read the ECU.

I’m assuming you’ve not flashed the ecu to BO2S like I said previously?

I am an old bloke with a lot of motoring knowledge and I have to ask why would you ever contemplate tuning a 20 lyear old car which is normally aspirated. Unless you go the turbo route there is no point. BMW did a good job in designing these cars, trying to squeeze extra hp will just knacker the car.

I know but to boost it a bit and to increase the rpms from 6550 to 6800 with the proper service maintenance I don’t think it’s gonna break
