Seatbelt rubbing into neck.......

Post by omegabri » Sat Sep 02, 2023 3:11 pm

Hi guys

I've heard a quite bit about the seatbelts in the Z4 rubbing into your neck whilst driving. I'm 6'2", so my seats are as low as they'll get, and I had the same common issue.
However, there seems to be all kinds of odd solutions suggested, such as additional sections of belts, or clips used to hold the belt away from your neck?
I simply got these.......Soft wool finish and amazingly comfortable 👍🏼

Easy 😉 Put your belt on, slide the pad to the perfect position for comfort, and enjoy your driving 👍🏼

I have an E85 and mine came with similar covers, I’m only a shorty at 5’6” but they work for me  Or a top with the collar turned up also works.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

I tend to wear shirts with collars. That solves the problem. I've never had a passenger complain about the same issue.

I too usually wear polo tops, but it's nice not to have think what I'm wearing, just to go for a spin 😉

Yer. Really soft, and comfortable on your neck. There are loads of leather, or carbon, 'look' ones on the market, but I can't imagine they are comfortable, and they'd also feel cold on your neck. These woven ones are a gem 👍🏼👌🏼, and look great! 👍🏼

The wife complains about seat belts so I bought some soft fluffy seat belt covers, now she has found something else to complain about, hey ho.

I had the same problem, tried a few things and ended up with these. The photo is upside down but they slide along the bottom belt to suit your build. They work very well.

They’ll always find something, too windy, not enough wind, too cold, too hot, uncomfortable, too many bends. The list is endless

You missed out too fast, too slow, too close but I do like the too many bends. That is a definite!
