I don't use it, I always go to the 'New posts' tab. I have noticed the the 'Active topics' only goes back 5 pages now, I'm sure this used to be endless, presume this is to save website space.

Out of interest, why are they called 'Unread posts' when clearly they have been read and replied to? :?

Unread posts, not unread threads.
So if you are following a particular thread you can easily see if anything new has been added that you haven't read yet.

Isn't that the same as 'New posts'? I really am not trying to be awkward.

I think New Posts are governed by some kind of time limit???
Unread posts are specific to the person looking. Posts you have read will still show as unread to me until I open them.
I got lost trying to keep up with everything so what I ended up doing was marking everything as read about 3 years ago.
Then every time I look at the forum I select unread posts and see everything that has happened since I last looked.
Once I read them they disappear from the list, so its easy to know I'm up to date.

Oh I see now, got it, thank you. I thought it meant unread by everyone not only by me.
