Don't know about anyone else, but I find it impossible to drive more than one at a time. So that point is irrelevant. :D

Think there are a few associated with 'climate change' who would possibly tell you. :D
This will no doubt trigger a few here, but I’ll go for it anyway
Climate change is obviously important and cars clearly impact things to a degree. My point was that this is a car forum for people who own more than one, so calling out random people spotted on tick-over felt a little bizarre.

While on its own it's fairly irrelevant and, if people want to pee their money up the wall, so be it. However, what gets me, is that it's a sign that people just don't associate wasting energy with cost, let alone the ever nearing heat death of the planet(!)

I've always been against wasting anything (but without living the hair shirt lifestyle) but it always amazes me how much people can't control their spending (while often moaning they're broke.) Short wearing in mid winter with heating systems cranked up to red hot. Constantly running washing machines because wearing something more than once is actually impossible. Etc etc.

I'm not really going anywhere with this but I honestly don't think Joe Soap gives a fig for the environment if they can't do basic self control.

Air pollution, noise pollution, vibration felt in nearby houses are just 3, but you won't change, I just know it.

Then of course it is illegal to hold a mobile phone while parked safely with the engine running and I suspect that you might do that as well.

Hang on a moment, cowboy. I’m not sure we’ve actually met, but clearly you know me in depth. That comment was linked to what I do for 10 mins waiting for somebody in a car when its hot and I want to hear the radio; not how I refuse to understand that its all ultimately planet impacting. My response to the thread originally was to do with people complaining of other car owners sitting there on tickover, when they/we all own at least two cars - one of which is for ‘fun’.

I agree 100%. We, as a race, are utterly doomed judging by the way that many behave IMO. Never mind the cost implications. I know too many people who have completely the wrong priorities in life (obviously IMO). People who drive blinged up Range Rovers, holiday 5 times a year, yet heat their (rented) shack of a home by way of an open fire with a back-boiler and burn anything they can lay their hands on (including plywood and treated timber).

On the bright side, though, the planet will be absolutely fine no matter what we do. It's us and most of the other current animals that will be wiped out.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

The climate change lot may tell you Pondrew, but who these days with any common sense actually take any notice of them?
