Anyone breaking a Z4M at the moment?
I've decided I'm doing a hydraulic conversion and the only bit I can't get off ebay is the intermediate shaft!

I think I'm going to have to buy one brand new. Some Z4Ms being broken on ebay but they never get back to me

You can use the existing one and adapt it to the new rack.

I had heard that but nobody seems to have posted a guide that I can find, do you know of one?

thecremeegg if you struggle to do the mod to your existing shaft then I work on a farm and the engineer who works there, with his arm twisted, would probably do this for you.

Let me know and I'll have a chat with him.

I might have to take you up on this actually. Cannot buy a new one for love nor money, they've been discontinued apparently. If you can ask him if he's able to mod it for me that would be great as I'm a bit stuck

I spoke to him and he said he would do it.
The time frame is going to be the problem so you would have to be patient.
Enuff-zed is breaking a Z4 from the 27th June and hopefully I can buy a shaft from him. When I can get the shaft depends on when he removes it.
Once I have it I'll take it to work and see if he can remove the u-joint by drilling it out and not cutting it off like in the guide. If he can do that would you like a new uj both ends?
Next step will be to buy another shaft from ebay and order the new uj(s)

You'd be expecting to pay around £150.

2 x shaft = £80
UJ = £10 or £20 + delivery cost
Upto £50 for the work to be done, could less but won't be more.

If you send your shaft back to me I'd pay you £40 for it and I'll get him knock out another one in case someone else needs one.

It will probably take upto a month but could be less. Depends on too many factors to give an exact time.

I'm booked in to have it done in but I'll just cancel that so up to a month is fine.
I have no idea what UJs to buy, would it be something I can send you money for and you buy them for delivery to you directly?

In the guide above the UJ's were bought from driveshaft parts so I'll get some from there.
Don't worry about sending money yet but I'll keep you updated with progress when there is something to report
