Foglight unit replacement (pre-facelift). Bumper off?

Post by Chris_D » Sun May 21, 2023 9:54 am

Being a perennial tightwad, I'm going to attempt to repair my nearside foglight glass which succumbed to a wayward, suicidal stone recently.
Had a quote of 30 European Euros including tax from a local supplier for a piece of cut safety glass and I might get a spare piece from them as a precaution.

Has anyone previously removed/replaced a foglight unit via the access panel at the rear or is it strictly a bumper off job?
I only ask as I'll need to order some bumper brackets just in case I bugger them in the process.

The plan is to remove the remnants of the broken glass and sealant and then bond in the new piece, adding a couple of layers of Lamin-X to add some degree of protection. I'll do the other side too if I have the time.

Foglight unit replacement (pre-facelift). Bumper off?

Takes about 10 minutes through the access panel. Easiest with the wheel off. Four Phillips screws.
My young apprentice 11-y-o Ed did one on his own recently.
No pressure 🤣
