Bmw z4 - Airbag control Unit

Post by Veej » Fri May 12, 2023 12:20 am

Hi,

I've been trying to solve my faulty airbag module for a while

I originally had taken the airbag module out and had it sent off to be reprogrammed hoping for an easy fix but alas
the whole module was corroded inside and un-fixable. Unfortunately my Airbag module was only made from 03 to april 04
and that's where my problem started.

I'm located in Melbourne, Australia and there aren't a huge amount of z4s here I've searched for
an airbag module for the last 6 months to have reprogrammed and replace my current one however I've had zero luck. Admitting failure
I finally decided to do the unspeakably and call BMW for a new module, however I was surprised to hear they don't make the module anymore
and couldn't help me. I was wondering if anyone overseas could help me acquire a unit pr has any suggestions

Consult Realoem parts site using your part number in the parts seach it will bring back all the modules that can be used on your car retrospectively so your not just searching for your part number as a replacement. Replacement will need coding to your car and maybe the system time started using software available such as NCSExpert or DIS from the BMW suite of software. Higher end diagnostics TABLETS such as Autel and Launch will code the module as well.

Coding a module to your car will put your cars Vin number into the module so that it can commumicate with other modules in the car the airbag light will require the code that set it to be cleared and the fault repaired before the airbag light will go off. You will geta wrong Vin Number code if its not coded to your car and will not allow the airbag light to go off.

You will want to confirm with your own RealOEM search, but I found this. Of course, if your BMW dealer cannot seem to source one, then this is only helpful in guiding a search for used parts. Not-so-encouragingly, the parts found are all specific to Z4's. I am not expert enough at searching RealOEM to tell for sure whether US market E85 parts of same vintage might work. the xxxxxxx2767 part might be worth a try. Hopefully, others can comment.

Why don't you buy it online in the market platform like e-bay or Amazon?geometry dash bloodbath
