2.5si or 3.0i E85 Manual wanted please :)
Hi peeps.
Thoughts on this before I arrange to view it.
Looking at MOT history seems to have only been maintained when it failed. Which makes me wonder if it's been cared for.
I'm in contact with the seller, other than service history what should I be asking before I commit driving the 3 hours to view?
Thanks in advance

First thoughts. Maybe needs rear discs and pads. Nice colour (Ruby Black by the looks of it), and decent interior spec.
Only one key and service done by owner wouldn’t raise a very loud alarm bell with me, but worth looking into the common fault points before you make the trip. Check the buyers guide on here and ask the seller to photograph or video for you. Ultimately they’re pretty robust.
Maybe also ask somebody from here that lives nearby to go look at it for you? Can’t see where it is on the linked AT ad.

Not sure what you are wanting for £6k in the 30si market but as it stands in the advert it looks far from expensive , in fact id say if it ticked out in the real its somewhat underpriced .Shadbolt83 wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 8:28 pm Hi peeps.

I would be asking for a walkround vid via whatsapp including cold start , cold tickover , warm start , warm tickover .
If all your questions are answered to satisfaction & the vid clips don't trigger any alarm bells get down there with the £££ rapid , wouldn't surprise me if a small time dealer had a punt at that

IMO a fair price with the desirable engine, desirable unmarked BBS split rim 108’s & red leather heated sports seats
There’s work been done on the car
1 downside is 1 key, so you’d need to (a) get another (b) get any others coded out which u can do yourself
Looks a bargain if I were in the market & be on it like a rash
Now you’ve posted it… better b quick & check it out ASAP before ur guzumped
On a closing note… just think the car has only done 6k a year
Recon you’d easily get it for £5.5k with cash in hand if all turned out well

It's in Banbury. So if anyone's in that area would be a great help .
Will look at the guide.

If you do end up going for it, factor in £500 for a new set of tyres to replace those woeful Potenza RFTs

If it’s Banbury in Oxfordshire, then it’s only about 60 miles from you…probably an hour’s drive.Shadbolt83 wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 8:49 pmIt's in Banbury. So if anyone's in that area would be a great help .

It may have unmarked outer wheels but looks like one has been welded from the MOT history.
Never seen a "see separate sheet" for advisories before. Is that because the lists were so long?
It looks like Black Sapphire to me, not Carbon.
Banbury is not too far from Warfield, though. Maidenhead, Marlow by-pass, M40 at Wycombe. 30 Minutes from there.

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Thanks all.
Some really good advice, although now worried I've shot myself in the foot and someone will get to it before me
My own fault . Will let you know how it goes.

Take your time, there are quite a few cars available. Saw this one in Eastbourne which is not far from me. I can pop over to look at it for you. Clear accident history, 5 owners. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 46fecd8e0e

On the face of it, that one looks a better bet than the black one IMO for the same price.raymond.harper wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 8:04 am Take your time, there are quite a few cars available. Black is almost impossible to keep clean too!

3.0 si , Help please. Starts nice, a little ticking maybe when listening at the end of the video,. I know these suffer from hydraulic lifter issue but could be hearing things and I don't know enough to tell by the sound of it
Thanks.

Rear shocks spring (weirdly one spring on the rear new the other rusted to hell) arms and brake lines rusted/corroded. Oil around gaskets in the engine bay, oil pooling in spark plug tunnel, probably valvetronic gasket leaking, I think the oil cap gasket leaking too. No big issues on that front.
Car drove well, pulled well, its missing the air thingy that sits between the seats, bodywork surprisingly clean.

I did chat with this fella, no service history between 35k and 100k miles. You take your chances I guess. Its been up for sale for at least 4-5 weeks now.Pondrew wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 9:13 pm It may have unmarked outer wheels but looks like one has been welded from the MOT history.
