12v Jump Starter Packs?

Post by inkey$ » Wed May 10, 2023 5:18 pm

What are people using and would recommend for 3 litre petrol cars and below?
Looking for something that is reliable, compact, not too heavy, usable USB ports etc. Seem to be a lot of choice out there.

This NOCO GB20 is in the lead so far...

Just seen this thread, an hour after my Grepro arrived from Amazon (£46). Obviously don't know if it's any good yet, but it looks the part.

How does this work on an E85? It can't be used on the actual battery can it, so it is connected to the in engine compartment connectors and if so will the wires reach? Sorry if this me sound stupid :headbang:
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Would be interested to know this too, I know when charging the battery if you have connectors in the engine compartment then you should always use these and not connect directly to the battery as it can potentially cause damage or the battery doesn't get charged correctly, might be different with jump starters :?

Positive to the jump terminal on the firewall as you know, but you're correct that you can't reach the cars earth stub so when I've used it I've clamped the earth to the strut brace nuts or somewhere down by the gearbox. And yes, don't connect to the battery, always use the positive connector in the engine bay.
