Car gone on for some work
Car gone in for some rattles and for the ppf on drivers side coming off.
Car is booked in for 3 days.
One of the rattles is the dreaded bass rattle from the rear. Tech heard them all and thinks the big one is from the rear shelf.
Strange one is the wing mirror has a squeak on the drivers side which is annoying with roof down. Again tech heard it and will deal with it.
The ppf on drivers side door lip may end up being a Bodyshop repair.
I’ll let you know how I get on as I know some of you have had rattles with bass music.

My car recently has some wind whistle noise when at about 30~40mph and some squeaking noise from the roof behind driver's head. The car will soon need its first service and I plan to let them look into this while the car is with them.

That's interesting because I looked at a brand new LCI M40i in the showroom recently and there wasn't any PPF on it.

Just a quick update.
Picked up car. So far so good. Noises were mostly from rear parcel shelf.
They also lubricated the door seals.
One plastic trim is on order as it was warped and creaking.
The ppf trim will be relaxed in a few weeks when the other trim arrives.

I thought you were talking about the ppf that is on the sides just before the rear arches. Mine has some there - from factory I presume (as it was there when I picked it up)...?

Bit of a thread bump, but can I ask what you mean by rear parcel shelf?

So behind the seats is a vertical divider….that had some rattles there. Behind and above is a shelf where the roof sits when the roof is down. That had some rattles too.kevwoods12 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 6:03 am Bit of a thread bump, but can I ask what you mean by rear parcel shelf?
All sorted now.
Anything else I’m gonna live with. It’s a convertible and you will always get more rattles and creaks.
