I attached a funnel to some tubing, which was also attached to a taper metal chopstick. this allowed water to be funneled into the breather hole. it seemed that most or all of the water just bubbled right out again, so perhaps there is a valve somewhere in the breather system of the battery. if so, that would necessitate removal of the cover to add water. here's the pics, we'll see if charging is more successful now anyway ...

Each cell is likely to have its own chamber and internal seal so all you are doing is dribbling water in the common area above the cells..

That battery looks WAY too small!
It also looks like the whole battery compartment was submerged/flooded at some point and someone tried to use silica dessicant to dry it out. Or is it risotto rice? OMFG loool

haha. it's the right CCA for the car, but smaller than OEM. I put rice in there to soak up some water that was in the compartment ... no big deal

back to topic a bit. I guess the batteries always have 8 cells ? if so it shouldn't be too hard to guesstimate where they are and drill holes for them
