I just realized that it's the Gruppe intake that requires you to transfer over that screen, not aFe! Brain is failing me

The eventuri filter has no screen, and it never gave me a check engine light nor a MAF code.

Roger, I thought I'd do it anyways, just incase.
I've had this car for 4 months now and haven;t driven her yet (new baby etc), 2 days until I get her tax/MOT/Insure and actually use it

I just ordered a Haiums airbox and can't wait to get it installed. As for the filter that comes with it, does anyone have experience running the ITG filter? Haimus state that it is washable.

OK so 5000ks since eventuri installed and time for annual oil change so put a new filter in and cleaned the old one. It was slightly discolored in the inside that faces the air flow with some insects. This worried me so I ran some white tissue paper inside the filter housing and inside the intake tube after the filter. No visible dust so I guess that's good. Having said that at 5k kilos I know an oem filter would have looked much dirtier.
Just to close this out.

Cleaned mine with the Simota kit for the first time last year - before that it had just been occasionally vacuumed - and immediately afterwards had a wandering throttle while cruising. This was fixed by resetting adaptations using INPA, presumably because a lot more air was suddenly getting through!

Gosh that thing was filthy. Did you check inside the maf tube? I purchased my intake second hand and it came with the old style filter like yours and it was also very dirty. Difference was that the inside of the carbon housing was also filthy. The older style filter that came with the intake seems, to me, to be significantly more porus than the new style. I never used the old one after I saw the inside of the housing. Glad it was the guy I bought it from and not not my s54 that chowed all that dirt. I don't know of it had ever been cleaned. Even had sticks in.

Ah, interesting. The whole plenum’s been off a few times and everything has stayed pretty clean, but I’ve only done about 4000 miles in the past 4 years. Carbon housing also fine.
