Rear brake pad warning.

Post by Pickster » Sat Apr 01, 2023 1:16 pm

Hi all,
Any help would be appreciated.
Had the rear pad warning come up. Checked the pads and they were looking pretty thin.
Took the opportunity to swap out the disks as well.
So fitted new mtec disks and green stuff pads also new wear sensor.

Reset brake service indicator using Carista
Now showing 100%
Rear brake pads showing 34000 miles in idrive

However still getting the bong on start up !!
Am I missing something ? Any thoughts
Cheers

Sometimes the various non BMW tools don't do a proper reset..had this on SWMBO F56 Mini (aka BMW)...my Protool app refused to reset it..the Indy's Snap on did..

Sometimes they even say they have reset and they don't..

You did have the parking brake OFF when you did the reset?
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard..

Yeah parking brake off.
It’s due an MOT next week so I’ll ask them to have a look.
Cheers.
