I love those seasucker's, I'm was thinking of getting one, but the faffing about with lefty fork just made me think I'm alright with the Thule cycle carrier. Personally, I'd place the front forks on the roof panel, and the back wheel on the rear window, always looks safer that way. Good luck with your trip

Hi chap, yeah thought I'd live dangerously by choosing the Rockbros over the Seasuckers, the price difference was too large to ignore.
The double bubble roof ridges rule out a roof mounting for the front suckers annoyingly, so the rear screen is a flatter mounting surface. Everything seems secure, including the vertical boot sucker, so I'll stick to 55mph on the inside lane and hope to get there with everything still attached!

Another Bones fan here, but no option for Seasuckers anyway being a roadie.
I think these are the best 2 lightweight systems available and if that Seasucker promotional video is anything to go by then you should be good for 155mph let alone 55mph.
Gowon, I dare you; give it the beans!

I've read good reviews of the rockbros, I think they're both a very safe bet tbh, have you tried mounting the cycle facing backwards, that way you could place the single sucker on the roof, with larger suckers on the rear screen, much safer and secure mounting in my humble opinion. Especially when you get side winds at speed. Yeah I had considered that, but it explicitly says in the instructions not to mount backwards - I'm presuming it's because the main pull 'up' with wind resistance will be at the front, and that's better resisted with three suckers than the single.
Will take it steady and report back.

Your probably correct. Very strange as I've carried 3 mountain bikes on my roof on a few occasions using roof bars and thule carriers with no issues. But then again, I've never used the coupe with anything on the roof, or have any experience of seasuckers or rockbros. I hope you enjoy a safe journey. Just reminds me I need to service the 'dale ready for summer.

Nice. Reminds me of my Kuwahara when I was a kid.
That thing was my p&j for years! CW bars, Skyway Tuff II's, Uni Turbo seat, Redline cranks, Beartraps.
Happy days. Snif.
Not sniffing from nostalgia. Sniffing from all the broken noses it gave me from failed 360's on the quarterpipe.

How did the bike rack perform on the Afan trip OP? I looked at the chain over your boot lip, it looks close on the 1st image, did you have any issues? I found this on the rock bros suction rack, this chap mounted it on the roof near the windscreen.
