New Owner, Looking for a part

Post by e8503 » Fri Mar 17, 2023 8:17 pm

Hi all, I recently saved an 2003 Z4 from being salvaged. M54b25 and the Getrag 5 speed. I'm pretty new to German cars as all my prior vehicles have been Saabs, but it doesn't take an expert to realize I'm missing some sort of manifold either pressure or temperature sensor. Anyone have any idea where I can get one? None of the parts dealers I usually look at seem to have one for the M54, unless I'm looking for the wrong thing. Any pointers on what and where to look for are appreciated. Also shouldn't there be a wire running off the center of the wiring harness that connects to the sensor?

Image Massive hole in the intake manifold. Also when shopping for wiring harnesses they all seem to have a wire that fits between the where the third and fourth cylinders are when installed, which happens to be the location of the hole.

Thank you for the recommendation Ray but sadly I can’t help in this case.
I’d suggest trying bigwinn, umfaan and street
HQ of 'Norfolk Zed Rescue'.
Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

At this point a part name or number would be more helpful, there's a Bosch service shop not far from me. I could probably get it special ordered from there if I had a part number. If anyone with the 2.5L M54 could check their motor for me it would be much appreciated.

So perhaps it was for some emission equipment.

Maybe ask the OP to order two then? :poke:
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!
