And a result for industrial strength velcro (which I had lying around :))

Took about 5 minutes, closes perfectly and should have some resilience to vibration. I decided only to add it on one side as a hinge, but it could
be used on the other if I find it has a tendency to pop open. The trick is to fold the loop (soft, carpet-like) section over so there's no sticky residue and it doesn't attach to anything you don't want.

I'll keep you posted as to how it holds up on the road. The nice thing with this fix is that I've not made any permanent changes.

I see you have a remote boot lid release button down there..wonder when it was deleted ?
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

That's just to confuse people...

It's a Chinese replacement - the blank was missing from the car and the easy thing was to get a replacement
button to fit. There doesn't seem to be any wiring to plug it into unfortunately so it's just decorative.
