First of all, the location is North Texas for those interested and shipping would be on you.

Posting for a friend of a friend. She is selling a 1998 BMW Z3. It was her late husband's toy car. Don't know a ton about it yet. Things I know:

- Automatic transmission
- 1.9L 4cy
- Looks pretty clean inside and out (haven't seen it in person)
- 147k miles, engine was replaced last year but with a used 1.9L 4cy with 107k on it
- Bulb on the dash needs to be replaced
- Driver's door lock needs to possibly be replaced

Not sure what the asking price. Sounds like somewhere in the 11-12k range is where it's at but I believe fairly negotiable as well. If interested, I can certainly connect you with the seller.

An automatic Z3 1.9 left hooker from the states with 147k miles on it for 12 thousand plus import duty and shipping costs on a Z4 forum.

You have to admire an optimist don't you.....

Well first off welcome to the forum OP.

That certainly looks like a pretty clean Z3 but used car prices in the UK are so much lower than pretty much any other country, hence the previous reply. The current rate of exchange doesn't help either!

Hopefully some of the NA forum members will read this. Good luck anyway.

Don’t be so harsh- it had a new engine with a mere 107k

Appreciate the comments? I do appreciate the helpful comment, Tidy.

I'm just trying to help out someone who lost their husband and has a constant reminder of the loss in their garage. Don't know much about the collectability or value of these cars.

What value would you give it?

Over here in the uk it would only be worth a few thousand pounds imho. Probably has more value in the us.

I’m sorry if I came across unhelpful. It is a nice car and sure it will sell. I think zroadster.net and zpost.com are more US based forums you could try.

Flip but serious comment Kip, no offence intended.

I'm afraid you won't sell that over here for my reasons, as said by the bear keep to the US.

Best of luck, you're doing a good thing.

hey kip, I would gauge local prices in the usa of similar cars with similar criteria, is it craigslist? or alternatively have a look ebay and see what people are selling similar z3's for. Prices in the UK are low in comparison to prices abroad, so would never be a good indicator for the US market. Good luck.
