Hi Stu, it’s difficult to tell as the big end is no longer there!
The piston wasn’t really very sooted up, they’re Teflon coated & look dark even when brand new Rob

Definitely threw a rod, i walked the road later on but couldn’t find the rest of the rod - it probably went through someone’s windscreen
Looks like there is serious need for a mini fridge just to tidy things up a bit.
I think you are a master of the understatement Rob!
I’ve got the main components sorted out, waiting for a couple more bits & i can reassemble the engine Rob
Is that all eBay (or the like), or are there sellers of used engine parts?
H2 spares are available on eBay but they’re very rare & you pay a premium for them - i managed to source replacement crankcases, a crankshaft plus another cylinder from the owners club forum. (Ps, it’s a 750!)
FFS don't blow that up!
That's what I thought! It was bloody Peter saying it was a 500!
That’s cute, what’s his/her name?Smartbear wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 12:19 amH2 spares are available on eBay but they’re very rare & you pay a premium for them - i managed to source replacement crankcases, a crankshaft plus another cylinder from the owners club forum. (Ps, it’s a 750!)
