This is epic. The most helpful forum since the dawn of civilisation! I won’t have time to look at this till next week but I will let you all know. We have something else under the carpet to sort out first as well. But I’ll get there!

Had another session on Daves airbag problems today, he had fitted another used compatable main airbag module so an initial Health Report scan was made first using the Launch Tablet. This revealed a few issues with the module codes suggested that the passenger airbag had been fired which would mean module is locked up. No chance of coding this module to Daves car so it gets the correct Vin number. Tried this a number of times but it came back with communication error. The right satellite module was also comming up with no communication, the left satellite module could be seen but wouldn't code to change the Vin number in that.
Every module Dave has aquired so far have proved duff and won't code to his car.
A new code pertaining to the left seat belt tensioner low resistance also made an appearance for the first time in this sorry saga, thats on thre back burner as the main and right satellite modules are the main bone of contention and need to be fixed.
Finding a servicable module is very difficult all Dave manages to get hold off are proving duff and uncodable.
Seems we need a complete set of modules from a car that has no codes set in order to start afresh. If a set can be found we would expect each module to set Wrong Vin codes when fitted to Daves car, then we may be able to change the Vin in each of them.
This is the most frustrating set of fauilts I have ever encountered, just hate not sorting it.

I know it means a wait but end of this month I’m going to break my old 4-pot.
It has no airbag codes and if all three have compatible numbers then I’m happy to send them all together.
Sorry I can’t do it sooner but I’ll put Dave’s name on the list for now.
Hopefully you’ll find something sooner but if not let me know.
MOT expires 27th so available straight after that

colb, would it be worth trying to get the fibre optic cable or whatever it is that links the modules out of my car and putting that together with the modules as well?

Not at all sure about the fibre optic cable and its actual function I have always thought they communicate through the wires and am presuming if the main module is faulty that the cause of non communication errors with the satellite modules although Daves is showing an error with his rightsatellite module and the passenger seat belt pre tensioner which I believe are addittional faults to the main module issue.

The thing is, several of these faults did not show up when previous modules I bought were loaded. I think there is confusion in the communication. Is it easy to replace the coaxial cable and can that make a difference?

I mean fibre-optic cable! If it's easy to remove it's worth it i think.

Found this explanantion of the function of fibre optic cables
https://www.cartechnology.co.uk/showthr ... ?tid=31057
Not conviced there is anything wrong with Daves Fibre optics its seem to me we get different codes comming up as a result of the condition of the respective modules we have tried in the car, each one has various codes that were obviously set in the doner car.

Ok well hopefully you’ll be sorted before then but if not, and assuming they are compatible, I will do a full code check of all three and send them together. But will be a couple more weeks I’m afraid
