Does anyone know what the highline edition cars have over the standard models? Looks like you get iDrive included for one, I assume it just has some of the options as standard?

FWIW the 326M wheels are pretty but very very troublesome...loooonnnngggg history of cracking on the inside edges which is obviousy difficult to see on inspection...often slow tyre pressure decline is the first sign of a spreading crack..

The 296 I believe were also troublesome, if not more so?

I'm 'enjoying' fitting the MMI box!Silverstar wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 12:33 amI have the old MMI box which works with the AUX port and it’s pretty simple to hook up, I’ve heard the newer boxes might be a bit more tricky to install but still doable. There are a few threads on here on this subject and as others have said Anusbiszed is the best person for advice related to this.

That’s what happens when you follow AnnubisZed’ videos..
As an aside, the trim that includes the heater controls…once you’ve undo the obvious screws does it just pull off?
I assume you don’t need to remove the ignition fob slot ?

No you don't need to remove the ignition key slot. Just remove the screws and it should pull out but if I remember correctly there is a sneaky screw on the passenger end. My memory is pretty crap so I always end up referring to this video:

I know the key slot is screwed differently on my 2009 23i car than shown in this video (easier in this video).
It shows it screwed from the from, my car the panel next to you left leg has to be removed, 1 screw horizontal and 2 screws are vertical.

I can see why that would be confusing....
Does no-one ever check the shite they write before posting?
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

I got the air con trim panel off in the end , just that awful feeling of ‘do I have to pull a bit harder or have I forgotten a screw’ moment..Silverstar wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 10:00 pmNo you don't need to remove the ignition key slot. On the trim panel round the light switch I found after I removed it that there was a secret screw / clamp that’s at right angles to the trim well hidden from view..thankfully didn’t snap the plastic tab
The new carbon fibre trims look lovely ..can’t wait to see them mounted and fitted
