Rear light unit

Post by 3.0Rich » Thu Feb 02, 2023 1:03 pm

Hi, I saw something recently about the rear light unit but can't find it.
I just replaced the driver side light unit last week, didn't want to do anything to the bottom seal because there's a 2 yr warranty on it so I'm asking if I did decide to pre-empt anymore indicator degradation is it a case of a small run of sealant along the bottom edge?

Many thanks

No real point unfortunately..

Front element is bonded to rear element…what happens is if stressed the two pull apart at the seam…

Part of the reason why they went from 3 screw fixings to to two..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

There have been several revisions to these units…the 3 to 2 screws was but one… :tumbleweed:

Autodoc generally have the best prices for replacements. The Magnetti Marelli item they sell is excellent

Seal inside will leak unless you glue it up. Mine are now leak free for 5 years.
