We usually go on holiday over new year because amongst other reasons it’s my wife’s birthday on New Year’s Day and mine 12 days later. This year it’s a biggy for both of us. so looking to book early which tends to get the best discounts.
We have done the far east to death and the Indian Ocean, which we love, is ridiculously expensive this year. As a result we are looking at the Caribbean, all inclusive preferred.
We have tried Mexico and found it to be full at that time of year with mad Americans in full party mode which we would like to avoid this time.
I would ask the forum’s knowledgeable and well travelled members to recommend somewhere.

If you like something a bit different, we really enjoyed Morocco although it was ages ago. We did Marrakesh and Agadir (seaside), but the other cities are supposed to be great - Casablanca, Fes, Tangier. There’s also the Atlas Mountains, Ouarzazat in the desert, Essaouira on the coast, lots more. Language is not difficult as everyone speaks pidgin French, (i.e. schoolboy French is widely understood)

I'd suggest Antigua if you are thinking Caribbean, bit more upmarket than the usual suspects, still prefer Europe for my holidays though, most of Italy is just fabulous and is my preferred destination where possible, Usually end up somewhere in Greece though as that's what the missus likes
if its got tits or tyres..its trouble

Likewise love the med and Europe but not really suitable for a beach holiday at that time of year.
We got married in St Lucia and been back a couple of times since. Loved it but please note the weather is better in the north of the island. Would make an exception if we win the lottery for Jade Mountain.
Will take a look at Antigua and Grenada, which sounds like something we would like, perhaps Sandals which tends to be a good standard, again if you can avoid the Yanks

We are off to Barbados again in March, my 22nd visit.
Happy to have a chat if of interest, though I would recommend not going AI.

Australia if you've never been, no language issues, drive on the same side and they like the Brits especially in Sydney.
Japan is next on my list, fascinated by the country and its customs and culture.

Northern Cyprus. We have stayed in the Pia Bella Kyrenia three times on a B and B basis as there are plenty of good reasonably priced restaurants in the area.Ask for a superior room with Mountain View’s.You won’t be disappointed.
