Water leak

When i lifted the carpet was cold and damp to the touch underneath.
Spotted this;

Moldy spot on carpet with water stain.
I wonder if water gets past the vertical drop of door seal.

Reminds me of my RX7. It developed a lot of condensation, till i found half inch of water under the molded carpet.
Still i found later it drained through the 6 inch long hole rusty in floor :o
The upper carpet was bone dry.
Not long after i got £15 scrap for the car.

Front bottom corner of passenger door.
The seal seems fine and tight on the frame.
I have yet to put back on the trim piece.
Want to see where it all lines up.
Of course this directly above where water always drips down if you should open door when it rains, due to lack of a rain gutter.
Problem is once the under carpet gets damp, would probably never dry out.

I wondered if water was getting into the tube of the seal and it was spitting out of that hole in the tube when the door is closed.

Sit in the car and get someone to pour some water, see if you can see where it's coming in.
My land-rover had a soggy carpet, which was down to a screen leak.
I lifted the carpet to allow warm air from a heater to circulate. And put a dehumidifier in. Now bone dry.

Worth a few quid now, they have become quite collectable.

It was crushed for scrap in 2001! Still have number plate though.
But was one of a kind, i put in Ford 2 litre engine from a Sierra after rebuilding twice and scrapping the Wankel engine.
Note weird power bulge.

I notice the staining lines up with the edge of the kick strip.
So water must run down then run into carpet.
Door seal seems tight enough though.
