Im not 100% sure but if you have something plugged into the cigarette lighter, even when the cars off it draws power? Would it be the same piggy backing through a fuse? My cigarette lighter is broken, a previous owner has pulled it through and broken the internal clip in the surround so everytime you pull an accessory out the whole socket comes with it, super annoying!
Trying to find the whole surround and in the right finish for the M without damage has been quite hard to find but this would solve the problem!

Back from Suffolk and the answer is yes - you can transport an enuff_zed sourced Z4 door in the passenger seat of a Z4 quite comfortably.
My friends lad turned 18 in November and passed his driving test last Monday. What better way to start your driving life than purchasing a 2005 987 Porsche Boxter 2.7. Suffice to say we tested the close performance theory between this and my 3.0 and they were very evenly matched. Better build quality in the Porsche though. Interior was lovely - even for a 2005 car.
Journey back to London yesterday was lovely. All the B roads I could find between mid-Suffolk and south east London. One other issue raised its head which was on my list anyway - sticky steering. With roof down all the way and the heater on high for a few hours, the steering was both sticky and notchy when I came off the B roads and increased my speed on the south circular.
Been doing some forum reading up on this issue and seems a fairly simple issue to remedy with a 5-10mm anticlockwise turn of the worm gear control ring...

Didn't realise there was an easy fix for the sticky steering - on mine at the time, the dealer replaced the entire steering column (under warranty).

bigwinn is an expert at this. Not had a go myself yet.
I believe turning the spacer between the column and the EPS motor adjusts the degree of mesh between the gears.
Seems to work whatever it does.

I have read in the past on here to avoid auto settings as it directs heat to feet in winter. This apparently helps sticky steering become a problem.
Maybe an old wives tale but I have kept mine to face or windscreen since forever and so far (touches wood) I have not suffered from it.

I've done a 15mm clockwise turn and it's loosened it slightly, but still present. Bigwinn has suggested anti clockwise which I'll be giving a go once my back recovers from a roof motor relocation.

Always baffles me. I look from the EPS motor towards the column as it seems natural to me, then Stuart tells me he looks from the column out to the EPS motor.
So I 'think' we ended up agreeing that when you sit in the seat you need to push the top away from you................................ or was it the bottom.
