Somewhere between 8-9k @ a year old. First 1200 miles were very gentle as I was running it in

    Thanks Andy
Better dust off my cheque book! 10300 on mine and 18 months old.Lots of tread depth left and if it was leased they wouldn't change them.
    Anyway,any recommendations on makes?

How much tread is on them, exactly? Id not bother changing tyres that are 18 months old because of age. If they still arent worn out after 5 years id change then due to age, but not before.

It's raining here again! I haven't found my tyre depth gauge to properly check.
The pressures are 1 psi out on 3 of the tyres ,my concern was mainly aquaplaning, the worst of any car I have driven.
This may coincide with me moving to the rainiest place in Scotland!
But at a glance nowhere near the limit!

JAZZERT501, I agree with brillomaster, they shouldn’t be changed due to age. Mine were changed because of tread. I was round about 2 mm when I changed. Just as well it was summer as if wet they’d have been noticeable well before.

I’m afraid I’ll have to challenge you on the wettest place in Scotland claim, I’d bet Argyll beats you nice Stirlingshire people hands down for rain and sh***y roads

Re brand, I went to Conti 7’s all round and personally prefer them much more, they don’t need the same heat to start gripping, they have a better steering response and they are much quieter than the Michelin’s all IMO they were also nearly £300 cheaper at the time of purchase

Gonna do proper checking, as soon as the rain stops, probably around June!
Even my A5 convertible on 20 inch wheels with dodgy generic tyres didn't do this!

PS I think you win on the rainiest part of Scotland Andy, but only by a few mm!

It's a well known fact that tyres last longer on red cars

I'm only at 2K miles so have a long way to go but, on other forums, many were reporting getting around 10-15K miles before having to change. IIRC maximum was 20K miles. Of course, driving style can affect this significantly.

The rear tires lasted 28000km under my car. They were replaced before the winter tires went under. Front tires are still something like 4 to 5 mm

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
