Anybody still use this last century stuff? Any tips?
I bought a whacking great pot of it cheap a while ago but haven't got round to using it yet.

Don’t let it dry too long!
Best shine I’ve seen on my cars Still got the same tin, bought it from America, just can’t remember its name, but will report back

Don't use it after discovering how easy Ceramic stuff is but have a couple of bottles of Maguires left.
As posted let it dry but not for any longer than necessary

I used to have/use a shed-load of Zymol products when I looked after my cars’ bodywork myself.
Once a month I’d use their Titanium or Glasur wax depending on whether I was just driving the car or taking it to a show…and once a year I’d have a local detailer do a proper job with some Vintage glaze.
Even kept mine in the fridge so it didn’t dry out

I’ve still got a little Dr Beasley’s. Great finish. Like others it’s now largely redundant, replaced with Autoglym HD Wax

The stuff I have is Turtlewax Carnauba. I think it cost about £3 for a huge tub. On offer in Lidl IIRC.
I also have some Autoglym 'spray on when wet' wax but have never used it as keeping the panels wet enough for long enough in warm weather is almost impossible IMO.

The Autoglym works well. I don't have a problem with it drying when applied to a wet car. Maybe you are just a bit .... slow.Pondrew wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 12:35 pm The stuff I have is Turtlewax Carnauba. I think it cost about £3 for a huge tub. On offer in Lidl IIRC.

Note to self:
Unless you have a day spare don't try and wax a car in a cold, humid garage.
The bloody stuff just would not dry!
