That looks like an old Scorpion tank from the 70's. I drove one of those when I was in the ATC on exchange with RAC trainees.
They were crap and I kept banging my knees.

Impressive, but the tracks didn't actually pass over the cabin itself.

It is, about 8 tons nicely distributed over the tracks. Should have used a main battle tank, closer to 80 tons. Doubt there would be much car left after that.

Well, that was more entertaining than watching an old episode of Yes Minister which is what I was doing up until I hit the link.
I wonder if the police were in on it as well? If indeed they were real police, in which case I suppose Mr Hall could have been done for wasting police time.
