Awkward buzzing sound

Post by BMWMAN2022 » Wed Dec 07, 2022 4:44 am

Something happened that happened a long time ago with my 2011 30i, when I unlock my car door and sat in my car a very awkward buzzing sound That almost sounds like it's coming from the back behind my seats, and then when I turn my car on the buzzing's still occurs even behind my radio and CD player even playing It's a very loud buzzing until I get out of the car lock the doors and within 10 minutes it goes away, it's done this once before several months ago, I have a video below of it could anybody tell me what this is?

I have only noticed recent months a very low buzz sound, i assume it's the pump.
Bit like tinnitus i only notice it if i deliberately listen.
Perhaps they get nosier as they wear.

Also if you have iDrive with disc in it, it starts up before you insert the key.

Sounds the most likely cause…assuming the noise is not coming out of rear speakers?

Bit of a longshot, but it's been known to happen; have you checked to see if it's a vibrator or vibrating buttplug, carelessly and and possibly accidentally misplaced by the previous owner but still active when the on/off switch is activated by the slight movement of the seatback when you sit in the seat?

I challenge anyone to deny the plausibility and possibility of that occurrence, especially Pondrew or the other members of the Z4 Bingo Handbag Brigade

That's a very astute observation, however purely coincidental I would suggest.
Unless, of course you are insinuating that I am fact, a lady?

Does it sound like Morse code and does it disappear or reduce depending on how much fuel you have in the tank?

It’s not possible to post a video on here, upload it to YouTube and then post a link to it.

Sounds like a dodgy connection in the audio / power wiring then.. :tumbleweed:
