Handling Mods
Hi All. Apologies if this has been done a thousand times..
Had the Z 35i for a few months and starting to get a feel for it running the MHD 2+ MAP with all mods. When i got it the front felt lose especially under braking but that's been fixed with some new lower arms. Currently it has Koni Special Active Dampers, Quaife ATB rear differential already fitted and it handles OK but once you push it you can tell its a heavy thing. Without going down the M3 front end route what would you all suggest for handling mods. I was thinking upgrading antiroll bars, front strut & upgrading the bushes.. Then get it all aligned correctly. Anything else or things to avoid..

Tyres, tracking, uprated front steering rods (meyle HD), either M3 front links or uprated bearings in the existing arms, uprated rear swing arm bushes, uprated ARBs all help..IMHO front strut waste of time..
Probably anything to improve front end streering feel..tracking has a big effect, but obviously that's the last point..toe in and camber close to factory spec..camber plates if you want more camber to help turn in..

Thanks for reply B21 :
With Bushes i thinking Powerflex and replace most suspension bushes
Eibach Anti Roll Bar ARB Kit (FRONT&REAR)
Then sort out tracking should make a big difference then?

I’ve not personally used power flex bushes..I will try a set in the rear trailing arm when I fit the toe plates next year…
Most people use the M3 variants of the control arms and/or these bearings

Meyle HD have some good stuff, I used their steering track rod ends to good effect.
Primary issue is that the complex front linkages suffer from the strain of the weight and transfer so to start with they are not good and worsen with mileage.
The ARBs will help on the rear middle setting..
What tyres / sizes / wheels are you running?

Strange combo I assume it’s a typo with 255/35 18 tyres on rear…Gingerlomax wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 1:48 pm What tyres / sizes / wheels are you running?

A set of GY Asy 6 would be a good move …maybe going to 235 on front and 265 on rear ..
Probably good to get fresh steering rack tie rod ends ..Meyle HD since you are doing the tracking..

A set of homogenous tyres would be a good start…
