Any interesting things you found with your Zed for new owners?
Hi Folks
New here, first post!! Just joined the zed club with a 2019 m40i, frozen grey with ivory interior. Loving the car and reading all about other zed owners experiences!!
Thought I’d start a thread with any interesting things or tips you guys have found with your Zeds that might be of help to new owners, especially if not obvious in owners manual….
ie. Today, when setting the preset(shortcut) buttons, I found they are touch sensitive. If you don’t click the button and just lightly touch them, the display tells you want the preset is!
Also just found and activated the tyre recognition function, although I think there maybe more to this.
Any other good little gems?
Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I've only had E86 Z4s - they don't have any of that sort of techno-wizardry! Probably just as well as I couldn't use it.

Welcome!
Little thing I love is that the sat nav pits little arrows and tells you what lane you’re in and what lane you should be in. It’s at the bottoms of the digital dash.
I thought that’s quite clever.

if you have the heated seat on full (3 lights) and want to turn it off there's no need to press it 3 times, just press and hold.
(on another thread) - dim for night driving for interior lights dims the strip near the wing mirror only so it doesn't reflect in the driver's mirror.
turning the lights from auto to side light means they remain on after locking - parked up a few times like this. not sure why its useful but i liked it.

I don't like this thread as it's a reminder of all the toys that I no longer have since I took a step backwards and sold my Z4

You can't leave it in drive or reverse and exit the car. If you open the door with your seat belt off, the car will jump into PARK automatically. Good safety feature.
Also if you leave the mirror adjustment button on the drives side, it will dip the passenger mirror to the kerb so you can see where you are going when you select reverse.

I have had my G29 since May and still finding things I didn't know about. You have months more of fun to look forward too.
Surprised nobody has mentioned it but we do like pics on here

Probably all know this but you can turn the rear lights on constantly and have rear DRLs. setting in exterior lights in i-drive.

Press the button on the dash to turn off the lane departure warning. Makes my blood boil.

Agree with that one Thought I had a flat tyre when it first happened and didn't realise what was going on.

Ah yes... everybody remember the first time that they tried to overtake a cyclist.... and have the car push you into them of its own accord...?

Yeah, I had to turn off that lane departure warning. Drove me nuts. Only time I turn it on, is king motorway drives.
I find the correction is too strong and fights your steering.
