When you eventually get to talk with him, make sure you have him by the throat. Just to get his attention and give him an idea what may happen if he does anything that offends you.

Thankfully don't have kids so never been faced with your problem

As a father your job is to just scowl at them, not get to know them. Also when they visit make sure your cleaning your gun or sharpening a knife for gutting an animal.
