CLOSED Silbergrau 2.0 facelift REFER TO BREAKING AD

Post by enuff_zed » Wed Nov 23, 2022 5:11 pm

Please note: this is a tentative toe in the water for now.
I have a 'Silber-grau' 4-pot facelift which I intended to use as a winter runabout. However it has a few issues in the heating department.
If I can't fix this it ain't much good for a winter car!!! (God knows I'm trying!!!!)
So I'd like to just see if anyone may be interested in any parts IF I were to break it?
I'm not asking for a commitment to buy, just a rough idea if it's worth me considering.
NB. If the heating gets sorted it is staying on the road.
All in good nick except a dink on the rear which put minor damage on the boot lid and rear bumper.
Standard spec radio BUT has a multi-CD changer.
202 alloys in fairly good condition too.

I will say that anyone expressing an interest will get first dibs if breaking becomes the answer.

PLEASE READ TO THE END OF THE THREAD AS THINGS HAVE CHANGED.

It's always extremely inconvenient having car issues at this time of year, I hope you manage to rectify your issues instead of breaking a somewhat altogether roadworthy vehicle.

Echoing my sentiments.
If it was spring i'd run it through, but the whole idea is to have a winter runner.
If I can't de-ice it and have to wear extra clothing to drive it then what's the point.
Not given up yet, just checking my options.

If you've seen my thread asking for electrical advice on this you'll know I'm trying!

Mate, my skills are very limited I can just barely wire a plug and change a lightbulb. Please don't ask how many men it takes to change a lightbulb  Fortunately, there's some knowledgeable members on here that will help you resolve your issue(s). Good luck

I was hoping so too, but thus far it seems this is a new problem. :headbang:

If the air con works and part number is same as the 2.5i then I'd be interested in the condenser again :driving:

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the Zed!

I could be interested in the front bumper depending on the condition.
Also a couple of bits of interior trim if they can be removed (namely the part behind the seats with that surrounds the centre console and the part attached to the roof).

I'll bear you in mind.
As stated, this is currently just a toe in the water if I cannot fix the damn thing!

Hope you manage to fix it. It’d be a shame for something like that to take it off the road for good!

I’m after a passenger’s (left) front wing, if you do decide to break. Best of luck.

Cheers.
As detailed in various other threads, I have the heater working now, the EML fixed and the roof working.
So unless something drastic crops up it's a rescue job now.
I'll update the title.

That's no problem mate. You can have all the panels for £2000 and they'll come with a car inside them. :D
