Cracked waterpump

Post by Nick9one1 » Sat Nov 19, 2022 12:38 pm

I've been slowly loosing coolant and have tracked it down to a cracked waterpump (my second in 4 years).
This seems to be a common issue on the N54.

Spotted this upgraded replacement made by Pierberg with a fully metal housing for a good price

That’s the same one I got from Autodoc that failed after 900 miles, I was probably unlucky as others have had no problems with it, and it’s about £20 less than I paid.

not sure where your looking?
35i water pump part number is 11519455978 - this is on the part
and it also lists the z4 35i at the bottom of the page

I filled in the vehicle details using the table, it shows as not fitting the 35i?

I wouldn't trust the ebay compatibility checker. It definitely fits the 35i

Hi, yes I had that one fitted after my OE item barfed at 60k…5k miles so far but OK…I think Chippie was unlucky..hopefully..this pump is well regarded on various N54 forums..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is
